A Journal Page and A Card

This post catches up all the older projects... yay!!!  But I have several atcs I made this past week for the in-person atc swap I attended Saturday to share so I intend to keep the blog posts coming.

I made this journal page last month.  I was cleaning up my desk and had a piece of paper with this quote on it.  Instead of sticking it away somewhere I decided right then and there to put it on a journal page.  I picked a page from the journal I started in the class I attended at Stampaway that had some ink smeared on it.  I stamped the lines (a Dylusions stamp), messing up my idea for having them line up just so... but just went with it.  Wrote in the quote.  Stamped the leaves along the tome and the flowers (both Dylusion stamps) in the background.   Colored in the leaves and some of the flowers using Dylusions spray ink.  Decided in did too much coloring on the flowers and now my quote didn't stand out enough so made the beginning letters more bold and added some white highlights to the word 'yourself' and also to the leaves.  Added gold dots to the center of some flowers.  The large leaf vine and flower at the bottom are die cut from grungepaper and sprayed with Dylusions spray.  The leaves are stamped with the Studio 490 speckled background image.  "unique" is a Wendy Vecchi stencil.  I used a white pen to draw in the stencil and to add the other lines on the flower.

The car and tread along the bottom of this card are Tim Holtz stamps.  The sentiment is Hero Arts.  I stamped the card on a piece of scrap from picking up extra spray while working on a different project.  I didn't think to take a picture of the piece I actually used but I had other similar pieces so took a picture of them.  There was a perfect area on the piece I used that gave a shadow look under the car.  Created the bottom background with sprays and a stencil so it would match.  Layering with black cardstock and black pen dots.

1 verse - 3 cards

Time to Catch Up - Day 5

These cards were actually made just last Saturday but that was a week ago so I'm including them in my catch up time.  October is Pastor Appreciation month and last Sunday was the day our church chose to honor our Pastors.  These are the cards I made for them.

The center piece of each card are backgrounds I had in my "extra backgrounds file".  That was very helpful to getting started and in getting them all done (I am a slow stamper).  The scripture is from Our Daily Bread Designs and is stamped with Archival Ink jet black on 2 cards and embossed with white on the other card.

The center on this first card is left over paint from a project brushed onto cardstock.  The bottom background layer is red cardstock stamped with a leaf image, a text image, and sponged around the edges with ink.  The leaf is die cut (Tim Holtz Sizzix die) from white cardstock, sprayed, inked, stenciled, and for the 'veining' I folded the leaf, rubbed ink on the fold, unfolded it and repeated until I had all the lines I wanted.

The center piece on this second card I think was pigment inks on colored cardstock.  The bottom background piece is blue cardstock, stenciled (Crafters Workshop) with Dylusion spray, embossed with an embossing folder, sponged with ink and splattered with pewter Distress Stain.

The center piece is alcohol inks.  The bottom background piece is Dylusion sprays, Distress Inks, stenciling, splattering and doodling.  I like all of the cards but after they were all done, this was my favorite.

Thanks for visiting!!!!!!!!!!!!  I appreciate you!!!!!!!!!!!

VerDay on a Pop Up

Time to Catch Up - Day 4

I decided I wanted a different title on the post, the others were getting boring, lol.

Today I'm sharing one card.  When I got together with friends in Ohio over Stampaway weekend - See THIS post - most of us bought the Sizzix pop up card base die and one (or more) inserts and we thought it'd be fun to have a swap between up.  This is the card I made.  Since most of us had also bought Ten Second Studios VerDay set and it was a new item for me, I wanted to use it too.  I cut watercolor paper with the base (no insert) and then cut them in half to have the pieces to VerDay - so that is my background.  I had also ordered all of Wendy Vecchi's new stencils when I was at Stampaway so after they came in the mail I wanted to use them too.  I used the heart first, drew around the shape with a charcoal pencil and then smudged it with my finger.  Next I stenciled the flower using modeling paste and after it was dry colored it with Tombow markers and used a water brush to blend the colors more.  I stenciled the lines along the bottom with paint. I used green and white but didn't mix them totally so I had variations in color.  This was the first one I did and after this I stenciled the lines before the flower making it much easier since the flower is dimensional.  "Embrace.The.Adventure." is a Studio 490 stamp, stamped on white cardstock with jet black Archival, cut with deckle scissors and inked along the edges with milled lavender Distress ink.

For the inside I also cut watercolor paper and used Dylusion sprays, Wendy Vecchi stencils, Crafter's Workshop stencils, the hearts are an unidentified stencil I have, and inks.  I used the flowers insert when I cut this and then also cut the extra flowers to layer up.  They are sprayed, stamped with dots using snow cap pigment ink and then the centers have Pearl pen on them.  The word stamp is also a Wendy Vecchi Studio 490.

Thanks so much for looking.
I truly appreciate all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time to Catch Up - Day 3

Day 3 and my "my documents" folder is looking so much nicer.  I also cleaned out a lot of old "junk", deleting what I didn't need and filing the stuff I wanted to keep.

Today I'm sharing some tags.  All of these started with Ranger's #8 manilla tags.

The background is color along with a metallic on a craft sheet and lots of dipping and drying.  The flower and leaves are a stencil.  The sentiment is an old Hero Arts stamp.  The white in the stenciling and around the letters of the sentiment is done with a white pen.  The sentiment didn't stand out enough after I stamped it and the white helped.  The flower is made with phone book pages.

The door image and scripture on this tag are from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I made the tag to fold up and hold a gift card but still be a complete tag if you unfolded it.  The leafy image around the edges is an old stamp from Posh Impressions.  I can't remember for sure what I used to color in the image, it could be distress inks and either a paint brush w/ water or a Dove blending pen.  It could also be chalks with a Dove blending pen.  The color around the image is distress ink applied with the blending foam.

I think the backgroudn on this tag is color on the craft sheet and dipping and drying.  The text stamping in the background is a Studio 490 stamp and snow cap pigment ink.  The border image stamped in black is a Dylusions stamp.  White highlights with a pen.  I painted ont he stems for the flowers and added white pen highlights.  Flower buttons tied with thread.  Butterflies punched from book page and sprayed.  Sticky back gems for the centers.  The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs.

The background is sprays, inks, and stencils.  More stenciling for the flowers around the edge.  The calligraphy is a Quietfire Design stamp.  Cut from grunge leaves and flourish.  Flourish is painted with Distress Crackle paint.  The flowers are die cut from kraft glassine, color added and then dried with a heat tool (no blotting to keep lots of color).  There is also a piece of colored book page and a piece of sprayed burlap in the mix at the bottom.  Colored seam binding at the top. The center of the flower I've glued more brass shavings (on THIS post I shared by brass shavings story).  Before adding the shavings and to hold the flowers together I would have used Tim's little stapler.

I hope your enjoying all this eye candy!!!  Let me know!!

Time to Catch Up - Day 2

For Day 2 of my catch up week I'm sharing some cards!!!  Hope you enjoy them!!!

This first card I did for a wedding.  The quote is a Quietfire Design image and it's die cut with a Spellbinders die, color added around the edges and in the openings around the edge of the die.  The background is printed paper.  The flowers are silk. The little row of hearts is a long sticker.

This next card uses Ranger's Specialty Stamping paper, sprays, a stencil and is also sprayed with Perfect Pearls spray.  The scripture, bird corner and grass/butterflies border image are all from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I've layered a stamped yellow piece along the bottom along with some torn green paper.

Sweet 16 is a Tim die die-cut from some orange flocked Doodlebug paper.  The green flocked paper for the background is also Doodlebug.  The oval piece is colored and stamped lightly.  Pearls around the edge.  The leafy swirls are green cardstock cut with Cherry Lynn dies.  Paper flowers and brads to finish it off.

Again the scripture on this card is from Our Daily Bread Designs.  The background is sprays and some ghosting with a stencil.  Sticky back lace under the flower.  The flower is made by punching scalloped circles from book pages, stack them, add a brad to the center, crumple each circle to the center, fold back out, and spray with color.

Another scripture card.  (Our Daily Bread Designs scripture stamp)  The background is sprays and a stencil.  The leaf image is a Dylusions stamp.  White pen for the stitching and highlights on the leaves.  The flowers - the pink, etc flowers are a paper towel from wiping up color glued to Clearly For Art and then die cut using Tim's die.  The bottom white flower is lace glued to Clearly For Art and die cut.  The flowers are then heated and shaped.

The background is again made with sprays and stencils.  Stamping around the edges are Dylusion stamps.  The sentiment is a Versus Rubber Stamp.  The flower is made from Studio 490 white Clicker Cuts (pre-cut Clearly For Art).  I colored the flowers with alcohol inks and heated and shaped them.  The leafy swirl is a Sizzix die cut from grungepaper and colored.  The large white flourish is a Tim die cut from grunge and painted with Distress Crackle.  The button in the center of the flower is a Studio 490 Blossom Bucket piece.

Thanks for looking and commenting.  I hope you are having a great week!!!!

Time to Catch Up - Day 1

I have a bunch of things from this summer that I haven't shared on my blog yet and I've decided I need to get these posted before they get any older (and so I can clean up my basic my documents folder and get things moved to their specific folders).  Today I'm sharing atcs!!  Most of these were made before our last in-person swap at the end of July and with our next swap coming up this Saturday my creating time this week is focused on atcs so I'll have a bunch more to share.  I'm going to just hit the highlights of each card (what I can remember) and if you have any questions, just ask.

The background for this first one is the wax paper ironed onto glossy cardstock as a resist and then add ink technique.  The birds, leaves, and flourishes are rub ons.

I think the background on this next one is watercolor spray and a stencil.  The butterfly is stenciled on first with gesso, then I used a black pen and added color.  The speckles on the background are stamped with gesso.  Doodling with a white pen.  A scrap of colored muslin tied around and an Idea-ology piece.

Pulled this background from my stash.  Stamped on the leaves and text.  Tissue tape on the bottom.  The bird on the branch is a rub on.

The background is colored muslin (don't remember what I used for the color) painted with rock candy Distress crackle paint.  The flowers (Studio 490) are stamped with Archival Ink jet black.  White pen for the highlights, tiny holeless bead glued in the centers.

This sweet girl rubber stamp image is from Lisa M. Pace's Antiquated Collection   Printed papers and stamping for the background.  Paper flowers behind the girls' heads.  Ribbon, bead ribbon, and buttons along the bottom.

The steampunk wings are from Dezinaworld.  I don't remember where the girl is from.  I probably started with a scrap for the background and added stamping - the leaves are a Dylusions image, the flower is from Hero Arts.  More flowers stamped and cut out for the bottom.  Idea-ology mini gears in the centers.

The last time my daughter was here for a visit she was working on a project and had stamped an "old world" world map a few times getting one the way she wanted for her project.  Afterwards I took one of the left overs and cut two atc-sized pieces from it and issued a challenge for her to use one in a project for me and vice-versa.  This is the atc I made her using the map in the background.  The quote was stamped onto white shrink plastic and shrunk so it would fit on the atc.  The car is a Tim die cut from shrink plastic and shrunk.

And that takes care of catching up my atc projects!!  Thanks for looking!!!
