Wolf

Hello.  I'm still playing catch up here on the blog.  This card was made in April and we'll see what I can remember, lol.  In the back is paste through a stencil (TCW Mini Climbing Vine Rev).  Then color and I'm guessing it was Distress Spray Stains (it's probably a good guess).  White paint splatters.  Dina Wakley media tape stamped with the paw print using Archival Ink.  The wolf and paw print are from a very old Stampin' Up set.  The wolf is stamped with Archival Ink jet black onto Specialty Stamping paper (Ranger).  This paper is especially fabulous when you want to stamp a very detailed image.  Leaf die cuts (Sizzix, Tim Holtz).

A Beautiful World Birthday Card

Hi There!!!  What a beautiful weekend it's been!!

This card was made for a friends birthday.  The background is layers of Distress Oxide inks along with some stenciling of the inks, 2 of the edges torn.  Onto this is Texture Paste Opaque Crackle (Ranger) through a stencil (Stamper's Anonymous, Tim Holtz).  As this dries it pulls up some of the color from the inks tinting the crackle.  Once dry all the edges were inked - this especially brings out the torn edges - and the panel layered to a green panel.  The piece across the panel is a Distress Oxide piece die cut with the On The Edge die Torn Notebook (Sizzix, Tim Holtz) and stamped with Happy Birthday.  Attach the strip and the girl (Tim Holtz Paper Dolls).  Add Rub-Ons (Tim Holtz) and attach to folded white card.

I'm entering this in the Simon Says Monday Challenge - You've Got The Edge.

Live Genuine

Hello!!!  Had to create another hipster project!!!  It is #hipforsummer after all.

She is stamped onto watercolor paper, cut with the Sizzix dies, colored with Distress Markers.  On the glasses is Liquid Pearls Frosted Berry and also for the dots on the dress.  "Live" is a Big Chat Sticker (Idea-ology).  "Genuine" is a flashcard (Idea-ology).  The next layer is die cut (Sizzix, Tim Holtz, Mixed Media 2 set), color Picked Raspberry.  I glued this to black cardstock using Distress Collage Medium Crazing.  The bottom layer is black cardstock brushed with Distress Paint Squeezed Lemonade.  Some doodling and dots and we're finished.

World of Imagination Hipsters - #hipforsummer

Hello and Happy Friday!!!

I've had in my mind for a few weeks a hipster project using all 5 hipsters, each a different color and only that one color for each.  Today I've done it!!  #hipforsummer

The hipsters are stamped with Distress Oxide Inks - Cracked Pistacchio, Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserves.  I used foam tape to put them together except for the glasses.  Those are glued down flat and then the lens area filled with Glossy Accents.  It was interesting to see how each color reacted with the Glossy Accents.

The background piece is Distress Mixed Media Heavy Stock.  The background uses the same five colors of DOX.  I put them on direct to paper, sprayed it quite a bit with water, used my finger for any areas that didn't have coverage and I ran my finger along where the colors came together to slightly blend and soften the line and dried the piece.  I then used some Tim stencils.  First #THS032 Flourish with DOX Fossilized Amber.  Second #THS004 Stripes with DOX Vintage Photo both vertically and horizontally.  I then splattered the piece with water, blotted it and dried.  The third stencil used was THS011 Schoolhouse with DOX Black Soot.  I then again splattered it with water, blotted it, and dried it.  I inked the edges just a bit with DOX Black Soot.  I made tiny marks near the edges where I wanted the stitching to be and then sewed it with Tim's Eclectic Elements black thread.  The quote (Tim's Stuff to Say set #CMS110) was stamped with Embossing Ink and Embossed with White.  The words were stamped with Archival Ink, cut out, and edged with DOX.

This was a lot of fun to make for the #hipforsummer challenge!!!!

Queen of Everything Hipster

Hi!!  I hope today finds you well!!  I have another hipster card to share with you.  I had so much fun making this card!!! I've had the thought of using the Ostrich along with Tim's Idea-ology crown and then stamps from Quietfire's Queen of Everything set on my mind for awhile and now I've managed to take the time to put it all together.  Isn't she funny!!!!

I started with a piece of shaving cream technique paper that I had in a pile.  It's not a new paper and I either used Dylusions sprays or Distress sprays with the shaving cream technique to create the paper.  The ostrich was stamped on Mixed Media paper, die cut, and distress inks along with a water brush were used to add color.  Also some Distress marker was used.  The eyeglasses are coated with Enamel Accents grape soda.  I used the stencil (Stamper's Anonymous Tim Holtz) to create the rays.  First I inked through the stencil with DOX fossilized amber, dried it, decided to go back over it using the stencil and Texture Paste opaque white... it didn't just pull up the yellow ink but also the blue and purple making green, etc... so I dried the paste, put the stencil back on, inked with embossing ink, and added Buttercup embossing powder.  Then I wanted to extend some of the rays so extended the 3 center rays, one at a time putting the stencil on, adding embossing ink, removing the stencil, adding embossing powder, melting, and repeating for the other rays.  The crown is decked out with Enamel Accents topped with Distress Dry Glitter at the top. Sticky back gems were added on top of that along with other places on the crown.  I don't trust the adhesive on the gems so also glued them with Glossy Accents.  Oh, first I painted the crown with Distress Paint Brushed Pewter to brighten it up a bit.

I love how the bottom background came out.  Onto Distress Mixed Media Heavy Stock I sprayed Buttercup Mica Spray.  I sprayed a lot to get a heavy coat of mica and dried it making sure it was totally dry.  The Stamper's Anonymous Tim Holtz Flourish background was stamped with Embossing Ink and embossed with Queen's Gold powder.  It's really gorgeous in person!!

I stamped Queen of Everything multiple times with Archival Ink.  Because of the mica behind it, it just wasn't getting as dark as I wanted so then also embossed it with detail black powder.  Looks fab... except that after it was all put together I noticed that "Queen of" goes slightly uphill.  It's about all I can see now and I'm really tempted to do that layer all over but I don't really have the time so, for now, it's what it is.

I should have taken a picture of the before.  The crown has an area at the bottom that would actually be the back part of the crown as it went around a head (or that's how I see it anyway) and I hadn't really noticed/thought about it until after gluing the crown on.  It just didn't look right... so I cut the forehead area from a left over after die cutting all the layers of the image trimming it to fit exactly above the glassed and over that area of the crown, colored it and glued it on.  You don't hardly notice I did it, it worked so well!!!  Yay!!!!

I hope you enjoy this project!!!!

Hugs, Wanda

Hey Chicky!!

Hello!!!  This was a fun card to make!!  Lots of orange as it's the recipients favorite color.  The background has texture paste through a stencil and there was inking and I don't remember exactly what else but it just wasn't coming together correctly so I painted over all that with Distress Paint Carved Pumpkin.  Put the stencil back on and inked.  Added paint splatters.  The chick Hipster is stamped, die cut (all the pieces), colored with Distress Ink and a waterbrush and Distress Markers.   Sizzix Tim Holtz dies for Happy Birthday.  Tim Holtz Idea-ology rub-ons and star brads.

Is to be Praised!

Hello there on this beautiful Saturday!!!  Plenty warm here but beautiful and this next week we will be beyond very warm to HOT!!

When life is full and I can't always blog something right away I really should learn to make notes, but then, that would take more time, right!!  I know the background starts with spraying onto watercolor paper and I'm pretty sure it's Distress Spray Stain... spray, dry, leave.  Then I came in with inking through a stencil (Tim Holtz).  The scripture image is from Our Daily Bread Designs and stamped with Archival Ink jet black.  The flower are Wildflower die cuts (Tim Holtz), probably cut from mixed media card stock and then colored with Distress.  Over the coloring I've added sparkle probably with a Wink of Stella Gl. Clear pen.

Earrings from Shimmer Sheetz

Hi!!!  A quick post today to share a pair of earrings I made a few months ago.  They were a birthday gift for a friend.  I used an Elizabeth Craft Designs flower cutting die and cut the flowers from Shimmer Sheetz.  I then embossed them in a folder and lightly sanded the high spots.  In the center are metallic peel off stickers.

Because of the Brave

Happy 4th of July!!!  America's Indepence Day!!  The Land of the Free because of the Brave!!!

The background uses Distress Oxide Inks. Overstamped with Distress Ink using the large background from Stamper's Anonymous Tim Holtz Americana Silhouette set of stamps.  Used Ranger's embossing pen along with silver powder to create the fireworks.  Tim's Mirrored Stars are added with some silver Stickles on top.  The hipster is stamped with Archival Ink jet black and colored with Distress Products, inks and markers, and also a water brush in some areas.  The glasses are inked over with embossing ink and embossed with Wendy's Red Geranium powder.  "Freedom" (part of the large background) and the shadow stamp are from the Americana set.  "because of the" are chitchat stickers.  "Brave" is a Quote Chip.  Gold glitter paste around the edges.

Mini Canvas

Hi There!!!  Life has been busy but good.  I'm still in the process of cleaning, sorting, organizing after the remodel.  Good news, though, I get a break from the shop.  We currently have enough help and I don't have to be out welding every day.  THANKFUL!!!

Today I have project over on the Quietfire blog.  If you'd like the details of this canvas, head on over and have a look.

I have several things I've made in the last couple months that haven't made it to the blog yet.  You should be hearing more from me!!!
